As the Tardizord emerged back in the Zord Hangar, CB was painting the GamecubeZord.
He turned his head and called “Hello, down there!” Dan, who was first out, returned the greeting. “Hi, CB!”
Truro, Cedric, Carlos and Carlnados followed Dan out of the Tardizord, which Dan shrunk. Truro looked
at CB, who was covered in bright green paint. “Are you supposed to be painting the GamecubeZord or yourself?”
he called. “Ha! Ha! Ha!” CB laughed, sarcastically. “Oh, Lighten up, Chris. I’m only joking.”
laughed Truro. “Yeah, I know!” sighed CB. As he climbed down from his ladder, the others went up to the Ranger Base, apart from Dan, who
stayed behind. He pulled out his trophy from the Knightmare quest he won as part of Truro’s
team. CB’s eyes widened with interest. “So, did you guys enter some event?” he asked. “You could say
that,” replied Dan. “but we actually took part on a quest at Knightmare
Castle…” and he told CB the whole story. “Fascinating.”
said CB. “Oh, in case you’re curious, Dan. Liz and Carly are out in their helicopter and submarine.” “OK,
thank you, CB.” replied Dan. He changed into overalls and gave the Hangar a quick sweep. As soon as he washed up, CB
decided to go for a spin in his CB Kart. As he got in, Dan said “Seatbelt!” CB put his seatbelt on and as soon
as you could say ‘flapjaxtix!’, he was as good as gone. Later after a brief cuppa, Dan was in the Computer Room,
and soon at work on his art. An hour had passed when he decided to put his art on hold. As he shutdown his computer, he picked
up a large book from his room, and made his way to the Hangar again. He’d only just sat down, when the Lizcopter and
Carly1 appeared in the Hangar, in a flash of yellow and pink light. From their vehicles emerged Liz and Carly. Hey, Dan!”
they called. “Hey, you two.” replied Dan. He put his book down and pulled out his trophy, and told the pink and
yellow rangers about the Knightmare quest. (He even provided video footage!) “Incredible!” said Carly. “Hey.
Who’s that bozo in the fancy clothes?” asked Liz. “The aptly named Lord Fear.” Dan replied, and then
proceeded to explain about the Powers that Be and the Opposition, which Carly and Liz found very interesting. “So, Good
Vs Evil in a sense?” asked Liz. “Absolutely.” Dan replied. Then, Liz and Carly made their way to the Base.
Now that it was quiet again, Dan picked up the book he was about to read, then he went outside the hanger into a wide, empty
space and started to read. Incidentally, the book was titled ‘Basic and Legendary Energy Techniques.” Of course,
Dan had a knowledge of such techniques as Time Beam, Temporal Cannon and Time Vortex, but he decided to add more to his repertoire.
Then, Truro arrived. He saw Dan with his eyes shut and forming energy in his hands. As he sensed Truro nearby, Dan opened
his eyes. “Something the matter, Truro?” he asked. “Oh, no. Nothing’s the matter. I just wanted to
see what you’re up to.” replied Truro. “Obviously you’re performing energy tricks.” “Correct.”
Dan said. “But I thought you had your own techniques already.” Truro pointed out, scratching his head. “You’re
right, but I decided to expand my arsenal.” explained Dan, handing the book to Truro. “Why don’t you have
a look and see what takes your fancy.” “Oomph!” groaned Truro.
“This is one heavy book.” He flicked through the pages. “Q…R…S…Aha! T!” He moved
his finger down the vast page until he found what he was looking for. “Ah. Here we are. Let’s try this one.”
he said to himself, putting the book down. He put his hands together, which started to glow. Then, following the book, he
thrust his arms out and a T-shaped beam shot out from them and swept Dan off his feet. “Whoa!” he yelled and landed
on his back. “Oops! Sorry, Dan!” called Truro. “What in the name of fish and chips was that? That was incredible.”
laughed Dan. “Well, it says in the book that it’s called the T-taliser, but I shall call it…um…the
T-Hurricane.” No sooner had Truro said that, when the wind picked up and black clouds loomed ahead. Then it started
to rain. “Me and my big mouth!” groaned Truro. “Quick! Back inside.” called Dan, making for the Hangar
entrance. In a wink of an eye, Truro and Dan were back in the Hangar. All was
quiet, until they heard a roar. “That wasn’t me!” said Truro. “Who said it was?” asked Dan.
“No. It sounds more like the CB Kart.” There was a flash of green light, and a screeching noise as the CB Kart
skidded beside them. “Now, that’s what I call a perfect landing.” laughed CB. Then, an alarm sounded. “The
ZACC. Come on!” said Dan. (Don’t even think of playing the Crystal Maze theme! Although they moved quick enough
to match that tune.) Truro, Dan and CB were in the ZACC, before you could say ‘Zip-a-dee-doo-dah!’ Zordon told
the rangers and nagas that a new monster was terrorising Shining Hills. “Let’s have a look.” Dan said, as
he moved to the viewing globe. The threat came in the form of a giant television set. Dan contorted his face, trying not to
laugh. “Blinking Gordon Bennett! A giant telly on the loose? Well, we’d better watch ourselves when fighting this
one, right guys? Guys?” Then followed an explosion of laughter as everyone, apart from Dan, lost control of themselves.
“Was it something I said? Time for me to channel some sense into that telly-twerp!” said Dan. Everyone else bent
double as they continued laughing. “Ah well, looks like I’m on my own. BLOODY SCANNER!” called Dan over
the laughter. He transformed into his MK 1 suit. Then, in a flash of blue light, he arrived at the scene of disaster. As he
looked down from the building he was on top of, he could see the overgrown telly zapping innocent bystanders and turning them
into television sets. “Whoa! Poor things!” sighed Dan. “They’d just paid their TV licenses, too.”
The television monster stomped about, laughing maniacally. “Soon, all the puny Earthmen will be television sets, and
I, Telly Chubby, shall be ruler.” “Not if I can help it! Take this!” called Dan as he fired a bolt of electricity
from the Screwdriver. One TV Screen short circuited. “Crumbs. This is gonna take more than screwdriver power.”
Dan growled. “F.Art Zord, arrive!” The giant Tardizord appeared and Dan got on board and into the cockpit. “Oh,
a Police Box! I’m so scared!” taunted Telly Chubby. “So you should!” called Dan. “Take this!
BLUE SPARK!” He pressed a button on the console. “FIRE!” A burst of blue lightning shot out from the lamp
and electrified Telly Chubby, who yelled in pain. Back at the ZACC, everyone finally stopped laughing and calmed down. Then,
they noticed Dan had gone. Truro looked at the viewing globe, and saw that the Tardizord was fighting alone against the giant
TV set. There came a cry of “BLOODY SCANNER!”, and the rangers morphed up. Soon, the other Zords joined the Tardizord.
“Nice of you to drop in!” called Dan. He manoeuvred the Tardizord out of the way so the others could have a bash
on the box. They all fired their weapons, but they had little or no effect on the big telly-twit! Truro got out of his cockpit,
onto the top of the LocoZord and thrust his arms out. “T-Hurricane!” he called. The T-shaped cannon shot out from
Truro, and swept Telly Chubby into the air, and he landed on his beck, the television
sets destroyed. SMASH! “Oh no! My tellies!” That smashing impact, (pardon the pun,) turned the TV sets back into
the poor citizens who had been attacked some time earlier. “I fancy a bit of Megazord action. What do you think, guys?”
called Dan. The others agreed. “F.Art Zords, combine!” they called together, and in less than ten seconds the
Pencil Force Megazord was ready for battle. With five minutes of arm to, er, telly combat, Truro let loose the Furnace Blast.
“FIRE!” called the rangers altogether. A blazing fireball surrounded Telly Chubby, engulfed him, then retreated
into the awaiting furnace of the Megazord. With a final blast of smoke, the battle was over. About half an hour later, the
Zords were back in the Hangar, and everyone got back to what they were doing. Liz, Carly and CB were in the computer room
with Cedric and Carlnados, Carlos was in the ZACC with Billy, Alpha and Zordon, and as for Truro and Dan, they were considering
where to go for their next journey.
