When the rangers got back into the base, CB, Liz and Carly headed straight to the
Computer Room, while Truro, Dan and Cedric refereed a fencing duel between Carlos and Carlnados. “En Garde!”
started Truro. Carlos and Carlnados took aim. “Allez!”
said Cedric. So, commenced the clash between Carlnados and Carlos. The two nagas matched each others moves flawlessly. After
five minutes, Dan called “Halte!”, and the two nagas bowed to each other. “Very nice.” said Truro, admirably. “Great bout, you two.” added Dan. “Thanks.”
replied Carlos and Carlnados. The five then entered the Tardizord. “Fancy another trip?” asked Dan. The others
agreed. Dan pulled down the lever. “Then, hi-ho Tardizord, away!!!” he called. Soon, they had re-entered the Time
Tunnel. As Cedric, Carlos and Carlnados watched the large monitor on the wall, Dan was looking at the Location/Date panel
on the Tardizord console, wondering where they would land this time. Soon, he was humming the Jeopardy! tune as he paced around
the console. “Dan.” “Yes, Carlnados?” “Look at this!” called Carlnados, pointing to the
monitor. There was a flashing speck of blue light in the Time Tunnel. “What do you make of it, Dan?” asked Truro.
“Search me. I haven’t a clue!” replied Dan, scratching his head. As the Tardizord traversed further into
the Time Tunnel, the speck of light grew brighter and brighter, until it faded and disappeared. The five aboard the Tardizord
blinked in disbelief. “What was all that about?” asked Carlos. “No idea!” replied Cedric. Truro and
Carlnados nodded in agreement. “How peculiar.” thought Dan. He pulled down a lever and the Tardizord disappeared
from the Time Tunnel. Then it re-emerged somewhere. “What’s this?” Dan gasped, his eyes widening as he glanced
at the Location/Date panel, which Truro read. “It says the Floating Island, Mobius.” “Oh, we’re back
on Mobius, are we. That’s lucky.” laughed Dan. Moments later, the five stepped out of the Tardizord and found
themselves in a cave. In the middle of it was a vertical tower of light, inside of which were the familiar sight of the Chaos
Emeralds ringing round the Master Emerald. Dan shrank the Tardizord, and put it in his pocket. Then, the five proceeded toward
the tower of light. Suddenly, Dan stopped; a shocked expression crossed his face. Instantly, a series of pictures flashed
in his mind. The others turned and now saw Dan’s face looking blank for a couple of seconds, until he snapped himself
out. “Oh, dear lord almighty!” he gasped, falling to the floor. “Are you all right, Dan?” asked Carlos.
“I’m fine!” Dan laughed, nervously. “Just had a sense of Dejavu, that’s all.” Truro helped
Dan up. “I seem to remember reading about this in a Sonic Fleetway Comic.” “Which story was it?” asked
Truro. “It was…Running Wild!” (Dum-Dum-DUMMMM!) “Running Wild?” repeated Truro. (Dum-Dum-DUMMMM!)
“Oh, cut it out!” he said quickly. Suddenly, the floor started to shake, then the sound of exploding rocks could
be heard as a bright yellow light rocketed into the cave. “TAKE COVER!” yelled Dan. Truro, Carlnados, Carlos and
Cedric did not need telling twice. They all jumped out of the way just in time. Dan turned and saw what was in the light,
(or rather, who). “Super Sonic!” he said, clenching his teeth. The
light dimmed and Super Sonic was revealed. A low cackle emitted from Super Sonic as he turned his head, his swirly eyes glowing
red.” “Ah. Fresh Victims, eh?” he grinned. “Well, I don’t know or care who you lot are or how
you got here, but you won’t be here for long!” Truro stood up. “Oh, really? We’ll soon see about that!”
At that moment, a gust of wind filled the cave as a familiar ally appeared. “Yo, guys! What’s new?” “Sonic!”
sneered Super Sonic. “What perfect timing!” “Save the ‘hello’s’ for a less tedious time,
please. We have a mass of super problems here!” urged Truro. “He’s right.” added Carlos. The rangers,
nagas and Sonic paced backwards towards the ringing emeralds. “Ha! Nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide!” cackled
Super Sonic. “Who said we were running, Goldilocks?” taunted Sonic, glancing back at the emeralds and winking
at Truro. “Oh, yeah.” added Truro. “We wouldn’t dream of skidaddling off, banana-brain!” “Exactamundo!”
added Dan. “Three…” “…two…” added Truro. “…one!” finished Sonic.
“HUP!” the three of them called, and jumped in the air. In a dramatic explosion of light, Sonic, Dan and Truro
transformed into their super forms, which made the situation a bit more interesting. “Uh-oh!” said Carlnados,
suddenly. “Now, I can’t tell which Super Sonic is which?” “I can.” interrupted a convinced Cedric.
“How?” “Well, the evil Super Sonic has red swirls for eyes, and the good one doesn’t.” “Oh,
come on. Three against one hardly seems fair, doesn’t it?” said Fleetway. (I’d best call him that for now
on, to avoid confusion.) “The more of us here, the safer we are…from you.” Turbo Truro pointed out. Then,
Carlos held onto Super Sonic, Carlnados onto Turbo Truro and Cedric onto Super Dan. “Ooh, look! A HYPER Emerald!”
Super Dan said quickly. Fleetway turned round, giving the group the perfect opportunity to make good their escape, fleeing
the cave before you could say “Bob’s Your Uncle!” Fleetway turned back. “Can’t see any…thing!
Oh, blast! They’re gone!” he growled. “Just you wait! I’ll get you!” And with that, he shot
out of the hole he made in the cave. By now, the three supers and the nagas had escaped the Floating Island and were heading
for lower ground. “Somehow, I don’t think Knuckles will be too happy with the damage up there.” said Super
Dan. Carlos turned his head, and saw a speck of light coming towards them. “Uh, guys. Step on it, because you-know-who
is catching up!” Super Dan, Super Sonic and Turbo Truro sped up and landed as quickly as they could. Moments later,
they landed in a clearing. As if luck would have it, they were near a Star Post. “Bingo!” grinned Super Dan. At
that moment, Fleetway appeared, fired his heat lasers from his eyes and hit Super Dan, who powered down. “Aaargh!”
Dan was injured in the leg. As Fleetway closed in, Dan took out his trusty Sonic Screwdriver. “Ha-ha! Two can play at
that game, Goldilocks! Eat Screwdriver!” A bolt of electricity shot out of Dan’s screwdriver and zapped Fleetway.
“Eeeeeaaaarrgh!” screeched Fleetway! “Bullseye! Have a taste of your own medicine!” grinned Dan. “Agh!”
He tried to stand, but a sharp pain coursed through his injured leg. “Good thing there’s a medic here!”
said Cedric, as he approached Dan. “Hold still, Dan.” Cedric put his right hand on Dan’s injured leg. There
was a flash of green light, and Dan’s wound healed instantly. “OK, try standing now.” said Cedric. Dan stood,
without any problems, and jumped up and down. “Thanks, Cedric!” he said. Then, he zipped along, calling “Oi,
Swirly! Come and get me, you great overgrown chicken!” “What are you doing?” asked Turbo Truro. “You’ll
see!” called Dan, moving faster than lightning. “I’m gonna try a trick!” and he winked at Turbo Truro.
“Blue Countdowner Tardizord!” In a flash, Dan morphed up to his MK II Ranger suit. “Bwah-ha-ha-ha! It’s
no use! Your magic show is over.” cackled Fleetway. Dan’s visor shone in the sun. “I don’t think so!
Super Sonic, aim for the Star Post!” called Dan. “Right you are!”
called Super Sonic, and he let loose a burst of energy at the Star Post to activate it. At once, the Star Post began to flash,
and the energy surrounding it began to draw Fleetway to it. “Oh no! Not again! Oh, I don’t believe it!”
groaned Fleetway. “Curse you!” The sky turned yellow as Fleetway was sucked into the Star Post, which led to the
special zone, of course. Moments later, everything turned back to normal, and Sonic and Truro were back to their normal state.
“I think that’s all from Fleetway…for the time being.” said Dan, resizing the Tardizord. “He’s
bound to find a way out again. He’s done so before, y’know.” said Sonic, knowingly. Everyone, apart from
Sonic, boarded the Tardizord. “I’m outta here. Don’t want that knucklehead to lay the blame on me for what
happened up there. See ya around!” he called, and before Dan could say anything, he was as good as gone. Dan shut the
door, and the Tardizord dematerialised from Mobius again.
